Ms. Munise Aren (wife of professor of economics and politician Sadun Aren) who served as assistant manager of Library between 1964 and 1977 is passed away on 2 March 2014.

Munise Aren graduated from the department of classical philology of Ankara University-Faculty of Languages, History and Geography in 1948, received management training in Institute of Public Administration for Turkey and Middle East (TODAIE) for one year in 1957, afterwards she worked in National Library for four years, Library of UNESCO at Paris for six months and Library of The General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) for two years. Aren started to work in ODTÜ Library as a reference librarian by 27 March 1964 and promoted to associate director of the library by 20 March 1965. She served as the  associate director of the ODTÜ Library until 30 March 1977.
