Agreement: Cambridge University Press Read & Publish Agreement
Summary: Within the scope of the EKUAL Project carried out by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, a “Read and Publish” agreement has been signed between TÜBİTAK and Cambridge University Press (CUP). Under this agreement, all EKUAL member institutions in Turkey can publish their articles as open access in the publisher’s Gold and Hybrid journals in the publication types of research articles, review articles, rapid communications, brief reports, and case reports without paying an APC (Article Processing Charge).
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Articles published as closed access in Hybrid journals between January 1, 2026, and February 16, 2026 (the date the agreement was signed) can be converted to Open Access upon the request of the corresponding author(s) (notification to ukg@ulakbim.gov.tr is required) and with the approval of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, without paying any fee.
No refunds will be provided for articles published as open access with APC payment in Hybrid and Gold journals between January 1, 2026, and February 16, 2026.
During the contract period, articles published as closed access in Hybrid journals can be converted to the Open Access (OA) model upon the author’s request within a maximum of three (3) months in the publication year.

Notes:
The author must be the “corresponding author” of the article.
